Improved SharePoint Integration

We’re launching a new SharePoint integration this week which will allow FormsFly to automatically add or update rows in a SharePoint List.

Sharepoint Connector

Our existing SharePoint connector focused on the document library aspect of SharePoint.  So you could previously generate custom Word, Excel and PDF outputs for storage in a SharePoint library.

But now this new List Connector extends the integration, to allow manipulation of rows in a SharePoint List.  So as mobile users submit their entries, the data can hit your SharePoint list without intervention, and all “out of the box”!

Setting up the Connector

  1. Ensure you have linked your SharePoint account in the Connections area
  2. Go to the Connectors page on any Form, and add the new SharePoint List Connector
  3. Specify a List name for the connector to access and hit Save
  4. FormsFly will retrieve the columns available in the target List – you now simply need to map a Form value to each list column as desired

Updating SharePoint Rows

By default, the SharePoint List connector will insert new rows into the target List.  But if you want the connector to update pre-existing rows, then use the Key option to define a key column.  FormsFly will then use this key column  to find a matching SharePoint row when the connector is executed.  If a matching row is found, then that will be updated. Otherwise a new row will be added.

Repeating Data

The connector also allows for repeating Form entry data – it does this by creating multiple rows, one for each repeat.
All non-repeated data is copied down into each repeat row created.

Please note that the new connector can only be configured and used by “Feast” level FormsFly users, and this connector is not available to “grandfathered” accounts.  If in doubt, please contact BarnData for further information, or to enquire about upgrading your account.

We know that a number of our clients have been waiting for this functionality, so it will be great to get it live and available.  As always, please let us know what you think about the new feature.
